Pocket Internet

I’ve been averse to using 3G mainly because of its very high tariffs so far and only trying some sample 3G services with BSNL and Idea …. But when Aircel introduced their Pocket Internet scheme for 3G services at some pretty affordable price points, I went ahead and bought a Aircel prepaid sim card and use it as my backup internet connection still preferring my wired BSNL broadband as its still cheaper…

The Aircel 3G network is pretty strong at my office where I got almost full network reception and the Alcatel Data card showed it as HSDPA. The speeds for browsing and downloading were strictly ok for a 3G connection with a download speed of 25 Kbps and speed test showing the speed as 1.3 Mbps. I paid 128 Rs. for 500 MB 3G data @ 3.6 Mbps for 30 days.

As you can see from the above pictures the speed is strictly ok not mindblowing stuff but the prices are pretty cheap and the one good thing is when 3G data is over you get unlimited 2G data.

Even though 3G network was pretty weak at my home, the speed was pretty good there too. So all in all a pretty good wireless broadband to have , but speeds and network reception can be definitely improved.

The above tariffs are for TamilNadu circle so for tariffs in your region please visit Aircel website.
